There is nothing quite like a live musical performance to elevate a wedding from a great party to a lifetime memory. When it comes to the most emotional parts of the day—the special dances—having a live band adapt, capture the mood, and perform songs uniquely customized to our couples is what we live for.

Today, we are opening up our video archive to share four incredible highlights from two stunning Toronto venues: the historic Eglinton Grand and the beautiful, lakeside Palais Royale.

Part 1: High Emotion at The Eglinton Grand

The majestic Art Deco backdrop of The Eglinton Grand deserves music that matches its cinematic scale. For this spectacular wedding, our flagship band, Electric Soul, had the honour of playing both the romantic first dance and an absolute powerhouse father-daughter moment.

🎥 First Dance: “I’m Always By Your Side” (John Park Cover)

For their first dance as newlyweds, the couple wanted something truly unique and deeply personal: a stunning live cover of the soulful track “I’m Always By Your Side” by John Park. With Vince taking the lead on vocals, the band delivered an intimate, sweeping performance that didn’t leave a dry eye in the room.

🎥 Father-Daughter Dance: “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” (Aerosmith Cover)

When it came time for the bride to dance with her father, they opted for an epic rock ballad classic. Igor took centre stage on lead vocals, unleashing a massive, heartfelt vocal performance of Aerosmith’s iconic track that perfectly captured the powerful bond in the room.

Part 2: Soulful Traditions at Palais Royale

Moving down to the scenic waterfront, we head to the gorgeous Palais Royale for another incredible wedding celebration. This time, our premier ensemble, Soulfire, took the stage to provide the perfect soundtrack for the evening’s most sentimental dances.

🎥 First Dance: “Danny’s Song” (Loggins & Messina Cover)

To open up the evening’s festivities, the newlyweds shared a beautiful, timeless moment dancing to a live performance of the classic “Danny’s Song”. Soulfire’s acoustic-driven, soulful delivery highlighted the joyful, optimistic message of the lyrics—making it a picture-perfect first dance.

🎥 Mother-Son Dance: “Landslide” (Fleetwood Mac Cover)

For the mother-son dance, the energy in the room became beautifully intimate. Vince took the microphone solo with just his guitar to perform a deeply moving, stripped-back cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide”. The raw, acoustic performance allowed for a truly genuine, uninterrupted moment between the groom and his mother.

What to say about Tie The Knot... THE MOST AMAZING BAND I'VE EVER WORKED WITH! These guys are seriously incredible. DJ Marcus, Vince, Igor and Ayla are a fabulous team. They heard our request and urge to give the best possible performance. Their voices are angelic and they can do every style between Tina turner, Bruno Mars, Bryan Adams, ACDC, Van Halen, Adele and more! Small Shoutout to Lauren who helped me organise and coordinate all of this event you're wonderful! Everyone in the room was dancing and singing along with them. I couldn't recommend them enough, that why we hired them back for our next event! Look at the pictures below if you're not convinced :) Thank again for the amazing night!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Vince and Tie The Knot for our wedding! We booked Vince and Natalie to perform our dinner hour and for Vince to DJ after dinner, and it was fantastic! Guests could not help but start dancing between courses, which no one who worked at the venue had ever seen before. They knew the exact vibe that was needed, and were extremely pleasant to work with behind the scenes as well.

We booked Vince without ever hearing him play live, so decided to book him for a birthday event before the wedding so we’d have a chance to meet him. Again, Vince and Igor were fantastic.

We’ve had so many requests from guests at the birthday and the wedding asking for their contact info, and I’ve never hesitated to recommend them. They will be my choice for live music for all future events!

Right from the admin team (thanks to LAUREN) they worked with our theme, our type of music, everything. We had been taking dancing lessons, and the band learned our song specifically for our first dance. Igor and Vince had sent us a song list of everything they could play and the selections were endless.

They also brought a beautiful violinist to play us walking in to the ceremony and she was spot on perfection. It changed the mood our our wedding to elegant and sophisticated.

They worked with everything we wanted, from our budget to our song selection to everything in between...

I honestly cannot say enough about how amazing Tie the Knot was for our wedding. Igor and Vanessa played amazingly in both our Ceremony and Cocktails and transitioned seamlessly between the two. For the reception, Gary and Igor were phenomenal for our reception and Igor took us into the night as the DJ. The whole combination was absolutely perfect and more than we could have possibly imagined. Ourselves and our guests were raving about them throughout the night and still talking about it. Easily the best decision we made for our wedding and cannot recommend them enough for anyone thinking about it
